Working around an established tallowwood tree as the centrepiece, this multi-level garden was designed to suit a multi-generational family. We replaced the existing pool, introduced a terrace to encourage exploration, and ensured each zone remained visible from the next, creating a considered tension between separation and connection.

Sandstone was chosen for the retaining walls to complement the existing pool house, while careful attention was paid to integrating the new planting with the established border landscaping, bringing consistency to the site within the context of its surroundings. Loose, mixed planting of salvia, miscanthus, English ivy, Purple Mist and climbing rose softens the transition between zones.
